Khiem Nguyen was born and raised in Southern Vietnam before coming to the Bay Area, California at age 14. Khiem currently attends the University of Southern California studying Global Health with a minor in Psychology and Law. At USC, he is a research assistant at the Center for LGBT Health Equity, a resident assistant, Vice President of Inter-Health Council, and Undergraduate Student Ambassador of the Keck School of Medicine at USC. He also serves as a Court Advisor at the LA Superior Court, providing legal assistance to litigants who cannot afford attorneys. Khiem is passionate about expanding healthcare access for the disenfranchised communities. Through his internship with the International Food Policy Research Institute this summer, he hopes to learn how food security can be achieved with sound policies.
