Theresa Fang is an experienced global health professional in the field of food security, agricultural development, and international nutrition. Her work has focused on Agricultural Supply Chains, Dietary Diversity, and Resilient Livelihoods across various countries in Southeast Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa including Bangladesh, Ghana, and Uganda. Theresa earned her Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and a BA in International Development Studies from McGill University. Theresa also holds certificates in Health Finance and Management, Social Studies of Medicine, and Health Geography. Originally from New Jersey, Theresa holds a strong sense of cultural awareness, a deep understanding of and commitment to capacity building, and is passionate about improving global food security and food systems resilience. Her past experience includes work with both international and US-based NGOs and government agencies including Helen Keller International and the United States Department of Agriculture’s Food for Progress and Market Access Programs.

Theresa managed InterAction’s Food Security, Nutrition, and Agriculture (FSNA) working group, addressing global food insecurity and malnutrition. She collaborates with leadership and coalition partners to strategize on how to secure support for research, global food security, and Congressional engagement.

As InterAction’s representative Theresa facilitated coalition engagement with NGOs, UN, and U.S agencies, private sector, and Congress, to advocate for effective U.S foreign policy.

Ahead of the G7 and G20 Summits, Theresa led the creation and presentation of InterAction’s FSNA priority policy recommendations on global food security and nutrition to National Security Council. NGOs spoke into drafted recommendations to guide the U.S. in mobilizing international economic cooperation and global action.

The 2024 Farm Bill is vital for food security and humanitarian efforts as it sets policies and funds for essential nutrition programs and U.S international food aid. Theresa helped to guide engagement and tracking for the 2024 Farm Bill reauthorization, organizing meetings for the FSNA Food Aid Reform sub-group to coordinate with Congress and the Administration.
