Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Corbin Laedlein graduated from Rutgers University in 2009 with a degree in Africana studies. Corbin interned at the Steve Biko Cultural Institute in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, and wrote his thesis on the impact of Brazil’s black movement on education reform. After graduating, Corbin worked with Brooklyn teens at Added Value’s Red Hook Community Farm, where he led farm work and developed workshops on social justice and sustainability. Corbin went on to complete a master’s degree in Comparative Social Policy at the University of Oxford.
