Originally from Apple Valley, Minnesota, Jean graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Emory University in 2011 with a degree in linguistics. An Emory Scholar, she served as the Co-Director of Volunteer Emory, Emory's largest service and social justice organization. She facilitated weekly service trips to PAWS Atlanta and the Furniture Bank of Metro Atlanta and led alternative break trips in San Diego, Atlanta, and Mississippi. Jean also completed a board development assessment for a fair housing advocacy agency in Atlanta.
