Shijuade graduated from Emory University in 2005 with a BA in Sociology and Political Science, where she participated in the Kenneth Cole Fellowship in Community Building and Social Change. Shijuade worked with the City of Atlanta, local non-profits, grassroots organizations and residents on a green space planning and utilization initiative. She was also a tutor at various local elementary schools, and studied abroad inCosta Rica. Shijuade is originally from Buffalo, New York, and her family currently resides in Fairburn, Georgia.
