In April 2012, I attended the World Nutrition Rio2012 conference in Rio, Brazil. This conference brought academics, policymakers, and practitioners together from around the world to discuss and debate the vast public health and nutrition challenges of our time. The theme of the conference was ‘World Nutrition: Knowledge, Policy, Action’ and one of the key focus areas was ‘Successful strategies and interventions’. Under this theme, I gave a presentation on Concern Worldwide’s Realigning Agriculture to Improve Nutrition (RAIN) project in Zambia as an example of an innovative intervention that strives to prevent chronic malnutrition.
