A Resource Guide to Food Safety Practices for Small Growers was developed for the Farmers for Chicago initiative members. The guide introduces the importance of food safety practices for urban farmers, offers farmers a step-by-step process of implementing food safety best practices and contains an appendix of relevant resources.

Originally from Trinidad and Tobago, Kimmi graduated from Sarah Lawrence College in 2012 with concentrations in Africana studies and the social sciences. In college, she worked to enhance the sense of community among students of color with an emphasis on anti-oppressive structures. She has also worked with multiple after-school programs in the Yonkers area to create and implement weekly arts-enrichment workshops for students.
