The Global Food Security Act (S.1252) passed the Senate by voice vote with no vocal opposition last night. CHC thanks the bills original sponsors, Sens. Johnny Isakson (R-GA) and Bob Casey (D-PA), and its 14 other bipartisan cosponsors and applauds the full Senate for approving this important legislation.
The House passed its version of the GFSA last week. Both bills would codify in law US commitment to building global food security in the more efficient, effective, transparent and accountable way possible. CHC looks forward to the next step in getting the GFSA to the President’s desk.
