Following our recent discussion on the key drivers of hunger, our fourth Summer Seminar will focus on global hunger. At the Hunger Center, we believe lasting solutions to hunger must be led by the people who have first-hand experience of hunger themselves. What does this look like in a global context? What power dynamics are at play in our current understanding of international development, and what changes need to happen to create a hunger-free world for all?
Join us Wednesday, July 17 at 11 a.m. EST as we hear from two leaders whose careers have focused on positive change through community-led solutions.
- Anne Hendrix-Jenkins has more than 32 years of experience in international development as a facilitator, teacher and trainer; program designer and manager; researcher; grant manager; and more.
- John Coonrod is the Founder and U.S. Chair of the Movement for Community-led Development, which seeks to mobilize communities to take charge of their own development and end hunger and extreme poverty.
Both speakers will convey their ideas and research about systems change and how to shift the power to the community. A discussion of policies that are impacting hunger will shape the conversation. Bring your questions and sign up today for a dynamic seminar about power and privilege in international development.
If you missed our previous sessions, it’s not too late to sign up! Get registered today and watch the recording of our introduction to domestic anti-huger policy. Join the conversation and network with collaborators in food systems across the U.S. by signing up today.
The Seminars are part of Zero Hunger Academy, the Hunger Center’s online learning hub.
